Across the West Midlands, over 22,000 members of staff are working tirelessly to care for patients within our community. During this turbulent and uncertain time, we at Accalia Care were humbled when the opportunity came about to support our local NHS superheroes, with compassion and generosity. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis we understand some of the challenges faced by the NHS and felt compelled to show our support and appreciation. Over the last week, our staff and young people put together hampers filled with everyday essentials and took a trip down to their local hospital (Queen Elizabeth Hospital) where they were able to donate hampers to hospital staff, our donations were used to provide comfort packs for staff working long shifts, especially those who are staying in emergency accommodation away from their own homes and families. We hope that our donations may continue to lift spirits of our NHS Superheroes and a massive thank you to our staff and young people for standing together to support our NHS staff.
Care Hampers
Items for the hamper included healthy snacks (and some naughty ones!) Hand cream, deodorants, dental floss, and shower gels to name but a few. We decorated the hampers with fictional superheroes for the real-life superhero’s on the wards.
